May Update - More Sports

It's May. Even though it doesn't feel like it weather wise in Eastern Canada. But really, temperatures around 10-12 degrees with sunshine is more than warm enough to enjoy plenty of outdoor activities.

Speaking of, tennis season is now in full swing (ba-dum-cha!). I am playing at two clubs in the GTA this year. I was selected to play on one club's B doubles team, which help with my net game, which is definitely the weakest part of my tennis toolkit.

The goal is to play singles twice a week and doubles once a week from now until Thanksgiving and that will hopefully ensure another big jump in my skill level. Right now, I sit at around a 4.0 on the NTRP scale.

Last month was the CN Tower Climb for Nature. My goal was to break 15 minutes and my final time was 14:58, so I slid in right under the buzzer. I finished second in the Global News competition behind fellow weather guy Ross Hull.

Here's my explanation for what happened during the tower climb.

This month, I will once again be working as a sideline reporter for CrossFit at their East Regional Championship in Albany, New York May 27-29.

I am also playing in a mixed doubles tennis tournament on May 9.

Here's my on-air schedule at Global for May (all times local).

Friday - 10 p.m. newscast for Winnipeg, Regina, Saskatoon, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, 11 p.m. for Toronto, and  Montreal

Saturday and Sunday - 10 p.m. newscast for Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Regina and the Maritimes, 11 p.m. for Toronto, and  Montreal
