April Update - Baseball is Back!

I will get into what lies ahead for the month of April in a moment, but March was an exciting couple of fortnights as well.

It was my first career month in a long time--since probably 2012--that was more writing-related than on-camera related. First, I posted the conclusion to a novella I wrote called The Longest Drive. It's a short-ish story about a professional golfer named Mark Madden who tries to navigate the culture of fame and celebrity after winning the U.S. Open.

I posted the novella in seven parts and you can read it--for FREE--here.

(My baseball novel, 60'6": Balls, Strikes, and Baseball Mortality is also still available and it's practically free--just 10 bucks)

I also had a couple of meetings regarding some scripts I have written over the years. One project is a sitcom and the pitch includes a treatment and the first two episodes. And the other is a feature-length movie.

It remains to be seen what is going to happen with these writing projects, but I hope to have more updates as the year goes on.

To April now. Not only does the MLB season start this month, but April also marks the month of my birth. Last year, I hit a birthday milestone and I celebrated by performing stand-up comedy at Yuk Yuk's Toronto.

Also this month, I have a couple more sports shifts which will luckily coincide with Masters weekend on April 9 and 10. Getting paid to watch some golf--not too shabby! And on April 17, I will be running up the steps of the CN Tower for WWF-Canada. If you can spare a few extra dollars, I would appreciate a donation for a great cause!

Here's my on-air schedule at Global for April (all times local).

Wednesday and Thursday - 10 p.m. newscast for Winnipeg, Regina, and Saskatoon

Friday - 10 p.m. newscast for Winnipeg, Regina, Saskatoon, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, 11 p.m. for Toronto, and  Montreal

Saturday and Sunday - 10 p.m. newscast for Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Regina and the Maritimes, 11 p.m. for Toronto, and  Montreal

Thanks for reading and watching!
